Mississippi Puppy Mill Raid

I found this video on the Humane Society of the United States website.  I don't know how anyone could do this to all these innocent dogs for an income.  This video shows the importance of doing whatever possible to end puppy mills.  Most of the dogs in pet stores come from puppy mills just like this.  I think people need to become more aware of where the puppies they are buying come from.  In most states, puppy mills are not illegal.  Dogs kennels are able to keep hundreds of dogs in cages for the entire lives as long as they have food, water, and shelter.  This can only be stopped when cruelty to an animal is documented.  Many of the dogs in these puppy mills end up having some kind of disease because dogs that are sick are not removed giving the other dogs the same sickness.  They mostly have eye problems, epilepsy, and kidney and heart disease.  There are many things people can do to help stop the cycle of puppy mills.  Do not buy a puppy from a pet store.  It is wise to meet the seller of the puppy in person where your puppy was bred and where you can see the mother of the puppy.  You can also adopt a pet in need of a good home from a local humane society and save a life and help end the cruelty of puppy mills.
